If the COTA corners look familiar, they should. Turns 3–6 are reminiscent of Silverstone's high-speed run through Maggotts/Becketts or Suzuka's S Curves, while Turns 12–15 are reminiscent of Hockenheim's stadium section. Meanwhile, in the track's brief existence, the uphill run into wide, wide Turn 1 – hey, everything's larger in Texas, right? – has offered some excellent overtaking action.
You have a lot of options. In typical American tradition, spectators in the main grandstand on the start-finish straight have in-seat food and drink service, while those in the Turn 1 stand get a view all the way to downtown Austin. Find a way into the Stadium Section stands around Turns 15/16 if you want to witness the racing action up close.
There's a reason Austin is known as America's trendiest city: it has amazing food and a thriving nightlife, all of which are unified under the city's unofficial slogan, 'Keep Austin Weird.' You'll then be in attendance at one of the great modern race courses when the racing begins. You won't want to miss out on the American way of partying!
